Topic outline

Adult Faith Formation

Adult Formation is the principal form of catechesis, because it is addressed to persons who have the greatest responsibilities and the capacity to live the Christian message in its fully developed form.(CT 90) The Christian community cannot carry out a permanent catechesis without the direct and skilled participation of adults, whether as receivers or as promoters of catechetical activity. For cathecisis to be effective, it must be permanant, and it would be quite usless if it stopped short of the threshhold of maturity.

FORUMS OF FAITH

Saint Bernadette Church offers a speaker series on Sunday mornings where adults can learn more about their faith in a comfortable setting. This group meets on selceted Sundays throughout the year after the 9am Mass, which is convenient for parents with kids in religious ed classes. Starbucks, pastries and childcare provided. We will be offering podcasts of the speakers beginning in 2009. Please check the bulletin for details.

THE GREAT ADVENTURE BIBLE STUDY

This ongoing Bible study group meets on Thursdays in the MSR. However, if you are unable to meet Thursdays, alternative accomodations can be made. The Bible Study is given by EWTN personality and Scripture scholar, Jeff Cavins. For more information on the study, go to http://www.greatadventureonline.com/. If you wish to join, contact Ryan at rdellacrosse@stbernadettechurch.org.
